Ms. Larsen’s industry experience includes pharmaceuticals and clinical development services, long-term care, textile, manufacturing and retail and consumer goods. Selected advisory clients have included Oakwood Homes, USA Floral, World Kitchen, Johnson & Johnson, Carolina Mills and Centennial Healthcare.
Most recently, Ms. Larsen was engaged by International Outsourcing Services, Inc., a company that had been indicted by the United States Attorney under charges of wire fraud. In addition to developing both domestic and international cash flows and divisional financial projections, she was responsible for managing the due diligence related activities for the investment banks, financial advisors to the bank group and other interested parties. She also had indirect oversight of the accounting department where she managed the restatement of current year financials, updated daily cash management templates, developed new accounting policies and updated the accounting systems and reporting templates.
Ms. Larsen previously served as interim controller at Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a publicly traded pharmaceutical development company. During her tenure at Savient, she was involved in the restatement of previously issued financial statements spanning three years and simultaneously completed the timely filing of continuing reporting periods. Other responsibilities included daily management of the accounting and finance department, creation and implementation of new reserve methodologies, communication and coordination with external and internal auditors and update of internal SOX controls and documentation.
Prior to that, she served at aaiPharma, Inc., a specialty pharmaceuticals company and clinical research organization. Her work included the development and periodic update of detailed financial projections that integrated weekly cash flow forecasts, negotiation of covenants and subsequent amendments to the original credit agreement, development of a detailed return reserve analysis that was crucial to the restatement of prior year financials and various actual-to-budget variance analyses and board presentations. She was also responsible for the development of a valuation model that she used to compare competing bids during the auction process that concluded with a successful sale of the pharmaceutical division.
Ms. Larsen holds an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. in economics from University of California, Los Angeles. |
