David Woodward is a senior managing director in FTI’s Corporate Finance practice and is based in Troy. Mr. Woodward has 27 years of financial, operating and mergers and acquisitions experience, including more than 20 years in the automotive industry. He has demonstrated success in financial and operating executive management. Mr. Woodward has a team-oriented track record, providing services related to in-court and out-of-court restructurings, investor and lender relations, creditor rights, acquisitions and divestitures, operational turnarounds, litigation, business valuations, customer agreements, business planning and budgeting, treasury and currency management, and multinational operations.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Woodward was the automotive practice leader for Giuliani Capital Advisors in Troy, Michigan. He has extensive experience representing companies, lenders, unsecured creditors and various other stakeholders. Mr. Woodward’s recent engagements included Collins and Aikman, JL French, EaglePicher, Veltri Metal Products, Oxford Automotive, Trim Trends, Venture Industries, Viking Industries, Sarna Automotive, and A.P. Plasman.

For 16 years, Mr. Woodward held various positions of increasing responsibility with the Talon Group, a private equity fund with interests in manufacturing, retail and real estate. He served as the vice president of finance, treasurer, chief financial officer and director of the Talon Automotive Group, a multi-national supplier to the automotive industry with ten manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and Canada. During this time, the company grew significantly through multiple acquisitions and internal growth. Mr. Woodward had heavy involvement in business planning process and strategy, including development of multi-year business plans and budgets. Further, he raised senior and senior subordinated notes, as well as managed relationships with the syndicated bank group, Wall Street analysts and institutional investors. Mr. Woodward also held roles as the vice president of finance and manager of internal audit for Talon Group.

Before that, Mr. Woodward held various audit positions with American Cyanamid Corporation and Union Carbide Corporation. Initially, he started his career at KPMG, working as a senior auditor of private and SEC clients in the manufacturing, retail and service industries.

Mr. Woodward holds a B.A. in accounting, with a minor in economics from Westminster College. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Turnaround Management Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, and Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
